Update 0.4.29: Pirate Invaders

Introduction

While this update does not bring new areas, the focus of the update is to improve EO with gameplay upgrades for the future. A new script engine has been created from scratch to handle future events, along with an event scheduler and more options for quest scripting.

These changes make the game engine more flexible and efficient. Additionally, five new quests for high-level players have been added, along with a few extra options to enhance your experience. Let's dive into the details of what is new:

Pirate Invaders

The new script engine has been built from scratch to be straightforward and user-friendly, using a syntax similar to EO+ quests. The main difference is that this new engine is timeline-based and incorporates a state machine for enhanced flexibility.

This design allows for more precise control over event sequences and complex interactions, making it easier to create dynamic and responsive in-game events. With this setup, script writers can design event flows and states more effectively, leading to a richer and more customizable gameplay experience.

Event: Pirate Invaders ( Aeven Port )

Schedule: twice a day, at 8 AM and 8 PM (EDT), USA (GMT-4)

Reward: 20000EXP, pirate bottle (weapon), captain hat.

High Level Quest Pack (5)

New quests have been added to enhance the experience for high-level players in Aeven. These quests include new Hallodale continent and is offering additional content specifically for advanced players.

• Quest Giver : Pjedro
• Map : Aeven Inn

Reward : 201100 EXP

The classic Endless Online quest has always involved rescuing Pedro's son from a cave. Now, this quest returns with a new twist. The grown-up Pedro has lost his son . Can you save Pedro's son and earn the 201100 EXP?

• New Quest: Shady Swap (L22)
• Quest Giver : Shady
• Map : Aeven

Reward : 60000 EXP, 2000 Eons

It appears Shady is at it again. He offers a new 'job' that he claims is a piece of cake for 2000 Eons. But given Shady's track record, you might want to hold onto your hat (or whatever headgear you prefer).

• New Quest: Trouble At The Port (L30)
• Quest Giver : Barry Barrelwood
• Map : Hallodale Port

Reward : 80000EXP, 200 Eons

Trouble At The Port is a new quest to boost high-level quests in Hallodale. A valuable shipment of barrels was accidentally dropped into the water by the dock workers. Your job is to sort out this mess and handle the situation.

• New Quest: Buzz Off (L30)
• Quest Giver : Woody Sinwood
• Map : Hallodale North

Reward : 82000EXP, 400Eons

To add more quests in Hallodale, a new task has been introduced. The woodsman is having trouble cutting down trees because of pesky hornets and stingers. Help him out and earn a good amount of experience points.

• New Quest: Imp Redemption (L30)
• Quest Giver : Fallen Shade
• Map : Shadows / Underworld

Reward : 90000EXP

As part of the high-level quest pack, The Fallen Shade once fought imps in the Underworld but did not succeed. Complete the quest for 90000 EXP to finish what he started. The Underworld should be expanded with more maps/quests in the future.

Bug Fixes

Various fixes and improvements to fix a few ongoing issues and improve gameplay:

• Wedding options*
• Tuned instrument pitches
• Improved npc spawn placement
• Direct npc spawn visiblity
• Direct (shop) npc placement
• Fixed day/night cycle
• Whisper allows friends: on/of/ friends only
• Bounty shared kills require minimal activity (anti afk)

Added next reset countdown (1h 10m) to quest/bountyboard

Attracted 'npc behaviour' will face player direction.
