Item variant
A prefix and a numeral that raise one of a piece’s stats.
A piece of equipment can carry a variant: a prefix and a roman numeral, shown in its name, like precise Dracota Plate IV.
The prefix decides which stat rises and the numeral decides by how much:
| Prefix | Raises | I | II | III | IV | V | VI |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| life | Vit | 3 | 6 | 10 | 14 | 20 | 30 |
| magic | Aur | 3 | 6 | 10 | 14 | 20 | 30 |
| precise | Acc, and Crit | 2 | 4 | 7 | 10 | 14 | 18 |
| strong | Pow | 2 | 4 | 6 | 8 | 10 | 12 |
| sturdy | Def, and Vit | 2 | 4 | 7 | 10 | 14 | 18 |
| swift | Dex, and Vit | 2 | 4 | 7 | 10 | 14 | 18 |
Numeral I is the prefix alone: a life Slayer is numeral I, a life Slayer II the next step. precise is the only prefix that raises two unrelated stats: accuracy every time, and crit 1 at I rising to 3 at VI. sturdy and swift each add a little Vit alongside their main stat.
What can roll what
Each item states the numerals it can reach, and they run in a block from II upwards: an item that can roll IV can also roll II and III, and only an item that can reach VI rolls the plain numeral I as well. Its page lists the exact table for the numerals it can reach.
An item can also come with a variant it always has, in which case its page says so.

Hall Of Pain , 0.4.51
The Nightmare (aka Bad Dream maps) are a unique theme in classic EO, holding more potential than the single map that could never been fully explored.. In the remastered EO, the area is turning Nightmare into a much larger and more immersive experience with more background. As players descend deeper into the nightmare they will explore the new Dream Prison, new enemies and more of the story behind the Bogomen. This expansion also introduces two new baseline quests that tell some of the story and offers more variantion to the baseline level up setup.
Details , 0.4.46
Variant I renamed to II ( I->II, II->III, III->IV, IV->V) to removed confusion between normal and I class.
Introducing Variants + Class , 0.4.45
Variants enhance the base stats of items. Each variant always adds extra bonuses, making the item stronger than its unworked version. Items can now also have unknown variant until identified, revealing the variant and its bonuses.
Variants can be assigned randomly by the server on crafting or npc drops, etc. Resulting in various versions of the same item ID. Each variant can also have a level, called variant class , which increase the strength of the bonuses. The class is shown in the name, such as 'precise-I' , 'swift IV' or 'strong V' .
