Chests

A chest refills after it is emptied, so it is a place to come back to rather than a one-off find. Most sit on a tile you can walk to and hold ordinary loot; a few are special chests that take a price and pay out costumes, buddies and other things nothing else in the game gives. 48 chests stand on 36 maps.

Special chests

These are the game's rare rewards. You pay a price -- eon, an item, a ticket -- and get back one thing from that chest's own list, mostly costumes and buddies that nothing else hands out. Most are reached through a quest and many need a level, and what comes out is chance: several of them raise the odds the more often you try, and some can only be opened once a day.
