Auction house
Listing items for other players to buy, and what the board refuses.
The auction house (the game also calls it the auction board or marketplace, live since 0.4.48) sells items between players. You list an item by dropping it onto the board with a buyout price; a buyer pays that price and receives the item through the in-game item inbox; you cash out the proceeds from the board later, and the game tells you what a sale brought in.
How a listing lives
A listing is active, sold or expired. It expires 20 days after posting. Nothing is deleted until the seller cancels it or cashes it out, so a sold listing waits for you as long as it takes.
What the board refuses
- The board holds a maximum number of listings in total (“Auctions Full”), and each player a maximum of their own (“Listing Limit Reached”). Neither number is shown ahead of time; the board says which one you hit.
- The board can be closed outright, or closed to new listings only, and says so.
- Queries too close together are refused: wait a moment and try again.
- Iron mode characters cannot trade through it.

From the update notes
What the developer wrote when this was added or changed, newest first.
Map Upgrades , 0.4.49
This patch focuses on map upgrades and additional quest start options, while the Auction House and Shadowguides systems continue to stabilize on the live server.
Basic Auction/Marketplace: Marketplace , 0.4.48
As mentioned, the basic Auctionboard / Marketplace systems were developed and tested throughout patch 47. With this update, this entire Marketplace feature will go live as well. Players can list items, set buyout prices, purchase listings, and receive all items directly through the in-game item inbox.
AH: Auction House Foundation: Foundation , 0.4.47
The path toward a fully working Auction House starts here. In this first phase, the focus is on creating the backbone that will make everything run smoothly. Designing athe database, setting up memory caching and smart indexing on the server, and finding a clean, searchable interface on the client side.
Performance is a key focus in this phase. The server is designed to load and sync all active auctions in server memory, with optimized indexing structures to handle lookups efficiently. This design should allow the Auction House to manage tens of thousands of listings without slowing down.
Together, these systems will make browsing, searching, and trading through the Auction House fast and reliable. This phase is all about laying the groundwork, the part players don't always see, but that makes everything else possible later on.
Medium term: auction house , 0.4.45
With the more complex item system introduced in patch 4.45 and beyond, developing an auction house to create a more organized player market will likely be necessary and could provide an additional Eon sink. .. This is not released in this patch
Engine Upgrades , 0.4.09
A new button has been added to the UI, providing direct access to a dedicated interface for receiving item gifts. This new UI handles rewards from admin distributions, event prizes, and future auction house transactions in a single organized space. Items are clearly listed and easy to claim, reducing clutter and improving overall usability. The system is designed to support expanding reward features while keeping delivery consistent, reliable, and easy to manage within the game interface.
